Prizm Content Connect (PCC) for SharePoint is made of two high level components. These two high level components together provide all of the functionality that is required for document viewing, Digital Rights Management, and other functionality of PCC for SharePoint. Both components must be installed and configured for a proper functioning deployment of PCC for SharePoint.
The figure below shows how the Prizm Content Connect for SharePoint product is made of two high level components, PCC for SharePoint Integration and Prizm Content Connect:
Prizm Content Connect
Prizm Content Connect is a standalone product that exposes a set of web services, these web services are referred to as the Prizm Content Connect Services (or just PCC Services). Prizm Content Connect must be installed within your organization as part of the PCC for SharePoint installation. The PCC Services perform document conversion.
PCC for SharePoint Integration
The PCC for SharePoint Integration is a farm solution for SharePoint 2010, which provides functionality that modifies SharePoint to permit document viewing, rights management, configuration, and document annotation. PCC for SharePoint Integration utilizes PCC Services for document conversion.
The figure below shows how PCC for SharePoint Integration is deployed as a SharePoint 2010 farm solution. PCC for SharePoint Integration calls into PCC Services to convert document formats:
Prizm Content Connect for SharePoint Installers and Downloads
Prizm Content Connect for SharePoint is packaged and delivered to you as two installation packages, one for each of the high level components:
- The installation package for Prizm Content Connect is an MSI installer. This installer installs all of Prizm Content Connect. This document contains a walkthrough of using the Prizm Content Connect installer.
- The installation package for PCC for SharePoint Integration is a zip file. This zip file contains the PCC for SharePoint Integration solution package (Accusoft.Pcc.SharePoint.wsp) file. This solution package is used to install and deploy PCC for SharePoint Integration to your SharePoint 2010 farm.
